Trail Fee Billing

Members who use electric pull carts on the course and take advantage of the services offered at the pro shop are charged a "Trail Fee". A few weeks ago computer error was recently discovered. This year the Trail Fee was scheduled to increase by $50, and that increase was not correctly billed at the beginning of the season. Those members incorrectly billed will see the adjusted charge of $50 on their August statement. We apologize for the mishap and appreciate your understanding in correcting the billing.

Computer Virus

At the beginning of the month the HGCC computer system was hacked into and encrypted with a serious virus which shut down our workstations for several days. This virus only infected Word and Microsoft Office based programs, but did not penetrate the firewall established for membership records an accounting. This means no member information, member records, billing information or personal information was compromised. Internally some files were lost and we're still experiencing technical issues, but the majority of programming has been re-established and back in working order.

Monday, August 18th: Mini-Corporate Outing

HGCC is hosting a 40 player mini-corporate outing on Monday, August 18th. The event will be playing the West / South rotation and the shotgun tee off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.

With such a limited field, the pro shop has designed a tee schedule that will see the maximum amount of white space created for member play. Please contact the pro shop to inquire about tee restrictions or come to the club and we'll take care of getting you on the course.

Tree Removal Project: Approved

The Tree Committee presented a proposal for tree removal to the Course and Grounds Committee a few weeks ago. The objective of removing trees is to improve the long term health of the turf on our greens. After deliberation a unanimous Course and Grounds Committee proposed this plan to the Board of Directors who chose to openly discuss the project at last night's Town Hall meeting.

David Oatis of the USGA presented the science behind improved growing environments through tree removal and the members in attendance voiced overwhelming in support of the plan.

The evening of Wednesday August 13th, 2014 The Board of Directors unanimously passed a motion to approve the tree project presented to them by the committees. The Tree Plan will be available in the September issue of Tee Shots and on the club's website next week.

In the coming weeks members may notice a few trees being removed by our staff, but the majority work will be contracted out to professionals and begin this fall.

2014 Assessment

Recognizing the club will not meet its budget objective of breaking even for the 2014 fiscal year, the Board of Directors approved a motion to assess an unrestricted member $100 per month for the next three months (August, September and October). November will be a month where we reconcile the years accounts and sure-up any additional financial shortfall.

This installment plan is designed to alleviate the burden of a larger bill at the end of the season and assist members in budgeting. Other membership categories will receive the appropriate percentage of the assessment and be billed accordingly.
