Men's Club Championship Weekend

The Men's Club Championship at the HGCC was once again competed for during the August Long Weekend, which is back in its recent traditional location on the calendar. There were also some minor changes to the flighting of the event, as the Captain's Committee continues to try and make a fair and equitable event. This year in fact marked the first year that a Net Flight was added to the Men's Draw, and by all accounts it was well received.

All in all the weekend went off without a hitch. The weather for the entire three days of competition was outstanding, despite some localized thunderstorms on the final day that caused major flooding issues in Burlington there were no weather delays.

The Mixed Hole in One Party on the final day was very well received and there were a number of kudos given to the entire culinary team on the quality of the event. Thanks to all the staff for putting this together.

Finally the competition on the golf course was excellent as usual and as usual humbling for some. No matter how each of you scored thank you for making it out to the event and playing without you there would be no event. Congratulations to all of the winners:

I would like thank the staff that make this event happen, and make us Chair people look good. Thank you David Miller and all of the HGCC Pro Shop for their help and continued support; Justin Kudrasovs, who organizes, changes and juggles all of the entries; Rob Roxborough and all of his staff in the clubhouse for looking after the members for the entire weekend; he entire team in the back shop for getting us to our equipment. Last but certainly not least, Rhod Trainor and all of his staff who have done a miraculous job at getting a very injured golf course back on its feet and in the condition that it was over the weekend.
